Current Series of Messages at The Baldivis Church

·        Our current Sunday morning series of messages is titled “Eternity” and is a call for all to consider the eternal implications of their life styles and their commitment or lack of it to the Lord Jesus Christ. The second message presented on Sunday had a powerful impact on all present, with some wonderful responses.

·        Our current Sunday evening series of messages is dealing with the material in Matthew’s gospel, chapter 7. On Sunday evening we dealt with the Scripture relating to false prophets. All of these messages are available for purchase on CD, or can be accessed on the podcast page of our website – www.baldivischurch.org.au .

Baptisms This Sunday

This Sunday we will be celebrating believers’ baptism with a number of folk who have recently responded to the gospel at The Baldivis Church.

One Month to Live

We are currently planning for our term two campaign, titled “One Month to Live.” This campaign will be processed at midweek Connect Groups and the Sunday morning messages will also deal with this material and theme. It also includes daily reading, and will challenge us to live life to the full. Some promotional DVD clips at both services on Sunday were so positively received and there is a spirit of expectation among the people about this campaign.

Colour Conference at Hillsong Church in Sydney

My wife, Lara, flew out to Sydney early on Monday Morning, to attend the Women’s Colour Conference in Sydney. I know she will bring back some great ideas to be included in our annual women’s conference.

Mandurah Ministers’ Fellowship
Most area Ministers’ Fellowships, made up of all denomination ministers in that area, meet on a monthly basis for breakfast, and have a guest speaker to motivate and challenge. Once or twice a year I am invited to speak at the Mandurah Ministers’ Fellowship. I have just returned to my office at The Baldivis Church after addressing the ministers there, on “Keeping Your Head in All Circumstances.”

Developers Damage Major Telstra Cables in Baldivis

On Saturday local Baldivis developers put a trench digging machine through five major Telstra cables leaving The Baldivis Church with no phones, internet or EFTPOS. We should be back on line by Tuesday afternoon, but for Monday and Tuesday all phone calls to the Church office have been diverted to my mobile phone.

Notes, Quotes & Anecdotes

·        Didactic - (Adjective) “Conveying instruction or teaching; instructive; relating to a literary type – eg. “This literature is didactic material.”

·        Inveterate - firmly established by long persistence; deep rooted; of long standing; fixed in habit by long persistence; confirmed; habitual.

·        “A survey of 1,000 British readers of Reader’s Digest in 2005 showed that only 48 per cent of the people knew that Easter was connected with the resurrection of Christ – (Source: Sydney Morning Herald, March 25, 2005).

·        “Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.” (Song of Songs 8:6-7)

Praying that you have a fantastic week.

Blessings in Christ Jesus
