Welcome to your weekly minute with the Pastor.
New Staff at The Baldivis Church
This Friday Monica concludes her ministry with us to move on to working in Primary Schools as a teacher's aid. Jo commenced in the Church office last Monday for one day per week with responsibilities primarily in finances, and Amanda commences today for four days per week in the front office. In the next few days Staff page on our web site will reflect those changes.
Playgroup
Today is Playgroup day at The Baldivis Church. The numbers continue to grow with about sixty families regularly in attendance. With a beautiful sunny day forecast, I am sure that today will be no exception.
The Passing of Mr Geoff Coupland
Geoff made a commitment to Christ during our 2002 Forty Days of Purpose campaign and was baptized on Sunday 24th November that year. After many health battles during this time, Geoff passed away early last Friday morning at the Peel Health Centre. His funeral / memorial service is being held this afternoon at The Baldivis Church at 3.30PM. "Geoff, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Now there is in store for you the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge will award you."
New Executive Minister (CEO) for Churches of Christ in WA
Last week Lara and I hosted Mike & Melissa Adamson from Victoria, as various stakeholders in Churches of Christ WA interviewed them for the above position vacated in June by Barry Austin. We have unanimously decided to offer them the call to this position and plans are underway to make this happen. See attached pic.
Weekly Bread Run
Each Monday evening, Brumbies at the Baldivis Shopping Centre, give us the left over bread at the end of the day to distribute to the needy. We give the majority of the bread to the War Vets. in Old Mandurah Road. It was my rostered turn last night, and there were about six garbage bags full. "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat." (Matt 25:35)
Annual Leadership & Ministry Conference at The Baldivis Church
With less than two weeks now until the conference we are putting all the final details in place to make this a conference that will bless and equip all delegates. There are great electives in Youth Ministries, Children's Ministries, Leadership, Events Logistics and Small Groups. Our numbers are building, but we believe they will probably double during the last week. Yesterday we received six registrations from a church in the hills.
Sunday Messages
We have just completed a three week series of messages on "God's Point of View." All messages from this series are available on CD. New series commencing this Sunday morning is titled "Showing People All They Can Become in Christ." Pastor Sarah is preaching this Sunday evening.
Have a fantastic day.
