Welcome to your weekly minute with the Pastor.

Land Clearing

The developers, over the past few weeks, have been busy with the demolition process on the properties between Baldivis Central and The Baldivis Church. Yesterday they began clearing the land between Baldivis Central and the church. The development has begun, and new streets and eventually houses will begin to appear all around the church.

Fathers’ Day at The Baldivis Church

The Baldivis Church celebrated Fathers’ Day with the first message in a series on Excellence, with a focus on the ideal of excellence in fatherhood. Pastor Sarah decorated the auditorium with a tribute to dads which can be seen in the attached pictures. Every dad also received a gift on entering the auditorium and there were 6 surprise gifts for those dads who found a gold coin sticker under their chair.

Annual Heart2Heart Women’s Conference

This Saturday 11th September we are holding our annual women’s conference. This year the theme is “The Elect Lady,” based on 2 John 1. The main speaker is Monica O’Neil of Vose Leadership.

This Sunday 12th September

This Sunday the second message in our series on Excellence will be “Excellence in Ministry.” We will also be celebrating with Fleur and Darren as they dedicate their son Samuel to the Lord.

Term 4 Campaign

During term 4, we will be participating in a campaign titled “Living Beyond Myself.” This campaign comes out of Willow Creek and is based on the Bill Hybels book, “The Volunteer Revolution,” and is designed to underscore the value and importance of volunteers in the life of the local church. This is a four week campaign that will involve our Connect Groups as well as Sunday morning services.

Annual Celebration Dinner

The annual Celebration Dinner at The Baldivis Church will be celebrated on Saturday 30th October. Apart from satisfying the legislative requirements relating to incorporated bodies (ie. Putting forward the annual budget), we take the opportunity to cast the vision for the following year. Our speaker at last year’s event was Pastor Daniel Indradjaja. This year our speaker will be Pastor Russell Smith, who is currently the Small Groups Pastor at Eastlake Church in Mandurah. The theme will relate to goals we are setting for our Connect Groups for 2011, as our new Small Groups Pastor, Leslie Trigg brings a new energy plus a new emphasis and dimension to this ministry at The Baldivis Church. Registrations for attendance at the Celebration Dinner are now being received.

Prayer

While there are many people deserving of your prayers right now, I would appreciate your prayers as I undergo surgery tomorrow (arthroscopic acromioplasty /excision AC joint left shoulder – ie. Grinding off the spur on that joint on left shoulder) at St. John of God’s, Subiaco.

Praying that you have a fantastic week.

Blessings in Christ Jesus
